NAU American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

Welcome to ASME

NAU ASME is the student chapter of the professional organization American Society of Mechanical Engineers. We work closely with local engineering companies and other organizations to help build up our community.

The NAU ASME student chapter is supported by its officers, faculty advisor, NAU Mechanical Engineering department faculties, and the Northern Arizona Branch of ASME Section.

Building days start at 9am in 98E (near the machine shop and police station on south campus) and our last building weekend will be March 1st and 2nd.
If building doesn’t interest you, then we invite you and your friends to solve our puzzles! Sign up for a time slot via SignUpGenius. Each of your team members will need to fill out the form! Escape Rooms will be hosted:

Cave adventure: March 21st-23rd
Alien Invasion: March 28th-30th

Human Powered Vehicle Competition (e-HPVC) Accordion Closed

The Human Powered Vehicle Competition (e-HPVC) is a national competition hosted annually by ASME International. Our team this year has been collaborating with companies and exploring what it’s like to build a vehicle so they can compete next year. Get involved with this project by attending their weekly meetings:
Tuesdays 4pm-5 Machine Shop
Fridays 3-6pm Machine Shop

Sensory toy project Accordion Closed

NAU ASME is working with special needs classes in Flagstaff to create 3D printed sensory toys. Any student can submit a 3D model via the following Google Form to take part in this project. Designs will be accepted until March 28th and awards will be given to anyone who gets their design printed! Email asmenau@gmail.com if you have any questions!

It is a great opportunity for freshmen and sophomore students to be involved in the NAU ASME student chapter, as participation through volunteering will help individuals learn fabricated skills in practice and accumulate some competition experiences. For junior and senior students, it is very necessary to join the NAU ASME student chapter in order to put classroom knowledge into practice and lay a solid foundation for future’s work.
