First Aid Tech Program

NAU First Aid Tech Program for Athletic Training

Are you interested in exploring a career in Athletic Training? The First Aid Tech (FAT) program is a select internship offering full time enrolled NAU students an opportunity to participate in the daily functions of an NCAA Division I sports healthcare facility. You will experience the daily tasks required of college Athletic Trainers and learn basic skills allowed within AZ Licensure Laws.  The first month is a provisional trial period introducing you to the profession and work place expectations. At the conclusion of the first month and thereafter, you must demonstrate continued interest in your own growth and an aptitude to matriculate toward becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer. Once admitted, you will be mentored and encouraged to expand your knowledge through additional coursework (AT-200) or in-services, etc. Admittance will also require a face to face meeting with a clinical staff person from the NAU Sports Medicine Program and an orientation.

To be eligible you must meet the following requirements: Once you have completed these requirements, please send verification of completion to Charcy Stiller with NAU Athletic Training/Sports Medicine.

______ Show proof of CPR Certification (including skills test)

______ Show proof of First Aid Certification

______ Have completed and show proof of Blood Borne Pathogen Refresher Training (http://nau.bioraft.com/node/1667221)

______Have completed and show proof of FERPA training. Follow this link for the tutorial and select <Start FERPA Tutorial> at the bottom. Then complete the Quiz at this link and send a screen capture of your certificate as a PDF to Dr. Edgerton

If you have any questions, please contact Charcy Stiller, Athletic Trainer with NAU Athletics or Dr. Edgerton, Program Director for NAU MSAT Program.
